Open Enterprise Resource Planning (OpenERP) software aims to provide open source alternatives to closed sourced software such as Salesforce, and Oracle ERP solutions. The Purpose of ERP software is to provide unified solutions to companies and large organizations such as schools to keep track of items such as expense reports, employee hours, finances, and much more. The Majority of the solutions on the market for this are closed source and quite expensive, however OpenERP (now known as Odoo) provides an Open Source alternative to these software suites. As such, the study of OpenERP solutions is one of the areas of interest within the OSSIG, and we hope to provide training materials soon on how to use this software suite.
